Trying New Things...

Today I was able to update my blog spot with a beautiful background and some helpful links.  I think I'm catching on...although it's taken many hours of trial and error...  I hope you find the information helpful.

I've been perusing my school district's curriculum webpage in order to prepare myself for teaching a new grade level.  I am including a link to the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for math that all 5th grade students will be working very hard to learn and apply.  The link is: http://elementarymath.mysdhc.org/pdfs/Next%20Generation%20Math%20SSS/5th%20Grade%20Mathematics%20Standards.pdf

This year I will begin teaching fifth grade after teaching third grade for the last four years.  I am so excited to have a new challenge and look forward to helping my students reach new heights in their education.  I wanted to start this blog to keep track of the many things I am learning and want to share with my students, and their parents, this coming year.  It's going to be great!
